Introduction to Understanding Heat Pumps
Overview
The purpose of this course is to introduce the theory, concepts and the science behind heat source pumps, including air-to-air, air-to-water and ground source heat pumps. It covers their workings, installation and how green funding can be accessed to accelerate their deployment.
This course is suitable for learners with a interest in sustainable technologies and those who wish to develop the skills necessary for a career in this industry (including those learners studying engineering, plumbing, construction and multi-skills).
Learners who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate to be used for CPD purposes which states that they can understand different types of heat pumps and they work and how they are installed.

Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
All applicants must live in England and NOT live in one of the locations listed here.
How long is the course?
30 hours over 3 months
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by online multiple choice assessment. The final assessment is made up of two multiple choice tests with a pass rate of 60%.
