Supported internships
These courses are supported employment programmes designed for young people with an Education Health Care Plan in their final year at college.
Watch this video to see how supported interns have enjoyed their placement at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and discovering new skills.
Why choose step-up and progress at West Notts?
Supportive environment
Students are given all the support and facilities needed to get the most out of the college experience – within a safe and inclusive learning environment. Students also get the opportunity to take lunch ahead of other students at the college, giving them time to enjoy time with new-found friends.
Caring teachers
With experience of working with students at all levels and all abilities, the step-up and progress teachers are always on hand to support and guide learners to achieve their best.
Opportunities for work experience
Some of our step-up and progress courses offer real work experience. Students could find themselves helping in Refined the college’s training restaurants, or on an external placement such as at a local farm.
