Introduction to Understanding Electric Vehicle (EV) Charge Points
Overview
The vehicles of the future are already here. Whilst all of us would benefit from a formal introduction to their technologies and designs, very few of us have received one. This course maps the confusing landscape of developments in this sector.
Electric and hybrid vehicles are ushering in a new era of clean, environmentally friendly transportation. By using lithium-ion batteries instead of combustion engines powered by fossil fuels, these vehicles reduce the amount of pollution and toxins released into our atmosphere and are an important step on our journey towards NetZero.
The purpose of this programme is to introduce and navigate the new ecosystem of technologies and challenges that cover Electric Vehicles (EV) and EV Charge points.
Our programme dives into the effects of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) on our planet. We introduce different electric vehicle types, their working mechanisms and battery range - along with EV connectors/charge points for both domestic and commercial settings - all while taking necessary safety measures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Learners who complete the programme are awarded a digital credential from City & Guilds, which states that they can understand sustainable development, clean energy and how to carry out a carbon footprint.
There are two credential options available:
- Free - printed certificate from Vision West Nottinghamshire College
- £25 – printed certificate and digital badge from City & Guilds
