Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques (Adult Fast Track) - Level 2


The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques is the perfect course for those who have a passion for beauty therapy and treatments and want to begin a career as a beauty therapist.

You won’t need any prior beauty therapy skills or training, but a real desire for learning. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and cosmetic beauty products and equipment.

You will also develop a range of technical skills to enable you to prepare the skin and apply a variety of skincare, eyelash and brow and make-up products, using different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Upon completing this fast-track 20-week course, you will be eligible to apply for the Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy - Level 3

Units of study include:

  • Health and safety
  • Client care and communication
  • Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
  • Provide facial skin care
  • Apply make-up
  • Provide manicure treatments
  • Remove hair using waxing

Entry requirements

A minimum of Level 1 functional skills in English.

Study programmes

It is an entry requirement for some courses to have gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths (see entry requirements). If the entry requirements to a course do not require A*-C in these subjects, and you haven’t already gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths before joining us, you will continue to study English and maths as part of your programme and take appropriate qualifications in these subjects with the aim of achieving A* to C grade. In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, every student aged under 19 and studying a full-time course at college will take part in our study programmes alongside their main subject qualification.
