This course (formally known as 'PTLLS') is designed for those who are seeking career progression (within their area of work) or are looking to start a career in teaching.

Entry requirements

You must have an interest in teaching and learning and either have or be working towards achieving Literacy Level 2. 

You should have good knowledge of ICT (Word and preferably PowerPoint) and the ability to study at level 3.

How long is the course?

This is a part-time, 12-week course.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a number of ongoing theory and practical tasks.

What does the course lead to?

This course will enable you to obtain a training or teaching position in post compulsory education (14 years and over).

In order to progress onto the next teacher training programme, teaching hours need to be obtained. Please contact us for more information.
