Wellbeing Centre

West Notts’ Wellbeing Centre is a welcoming space exclusively for students wishing to access additional support for mental health, during their time at college.

Supporting you

Located at our Derby Road site, our dedicated team offer a range of topical support sessions and drop-in opportunities to help support students with concerns such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, and support through times of stress. We also work alongside external partners such as NHS, CAMHS, and Shire Counselling.

The service is both discrete and flexible where students can receive impartial guidance, advice and support. A liaison with other external agencies can be arranged with the student’s consent and is tailored meet their own support needs. If students would prefer, the college can refer a student to a free external counselling service.

Activities

Each month there will be a link to a theme around thriving at college.

The centre will provide a range of courses workshops and activities designed to:

  • Create a fun, positive and safe environment for learning and exploring their wellbeing.
  • Give people the confidence and support to access opportunities and resources available to them.
  • Encourage students to develop their soft skills such as communication, self-motivation, time management and problem-solving skills to name a few.
  • Help students to identify personal goals and aspirations.
  • Help students thrive and improve their resilience to aid them to continue forward.
