Skills Access Hub Project

Unlocking the potential of your business now, and for the future.

With lots of schemes and incentives available to businesses today, knowing what support and funding might apply to your business and how to access it can be time-consuming and often confusing. But don’t worry, we’re here to help you.

Vision West Nottinghamshire College is a partner in the Skills Access Hub project - supporting businesses across both the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire regions in unlocking their potential for sustainable growth, economic prosperity, and improving employee satisfaction.

Working alongside other local training providers, we are actively working with companies like yours to identify and address skill gaps across a range of sectors.

So, if you’re interested in developing the skills within your business, this scheme could be for you.

What does the project involve?

Led by D2N2, the largest Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in England, the project supports SME* businesses in finding tailored training and development opportunities that result in having the skills to recruit, train, and develop talented employees both now and in the future.

Specifically, the project supports you in:

  • Ensuring employees gain the skills needed to develop themselves within the business and secure additional career prospects
  • Becoming more productive and competitive in the local market
  • Exploring apprenticeships and placements opportunities for training employees
  • Finding out more about what funding options are available for training
  • Developing connections with training and/or education providers
  • Influencing local training opportunities so they meet the existing and future needs of local businesses by engaging on a strategic level with local education provision

How can we help you?

At West Notts College, we have a team of specialists in training and skills development who can help you to fully understand the wide variety of support available and support you in choosing the right developmental packages for your business.

From accredited training to short and online courses, apprenticeships, and part-time courses, we provide a range of exciting opportunities that suit all different needs.

As your local college, we are also able to create bespoke training packages that are based on a Skills and Knowledge Assessment of Need (SKAN) which is carried out by our team. From here, we will understand your exact needs and find the best solution in terms of time, expense, and training opportunities.

As a delivery partner on this project, West Nottinghamshire College are able to work in collaboration with other partners to ensure the best outcome for your business. We can help you to future-proof your business via early identification of current and future skills gaps.
