The Reskill & Recover Project is part funded by the European Social Fund.

The Reskill and Recover project

The Reskill and Recover project aims to upskill and reskill employees of D2N2 SMEs to ensure participants have the skills needed to access future and emerging markets, post-pandemic and post-Brexit.

Offering the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and at varying levels, these short-courses provide the perfect first-step into a range of pathways including apprenticeships, professional qualifications and accredited or non-accredited courses.

All courses are available to employees of SMEs based in the D2N2 area (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire), but we particularly aim to support employees who are aged 50+, employees with disabilities, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff, and those who have previously missed traditional educational opportunities.

Industry skills

Learn industry skills such as customer service, warehousing and storage as well as retail and sales. Or, develop your leadership and communication skills, to support your own professional development.

Mathematics skills

Across these courses you’ll gain confidence working with a range of maths skills such as measurement, shape, percentages, capacity and ratio. You will also learn how to collect and organise data as well as understand mean, range and probability.

English skills

You will improve your reading, writing and speaking and listening skills as well as take part in discussions. You will extend your vocabulary and be more confident in use of grammar, punctuation and spelling as well as planning and organising writing.

Course fees

This project is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) so all course are free, subject to eligibility.
