Plumbing and Heating (Intermediate) - Level 2

Overview

This course is specifically designed to provide you with comprehensive training in advanced skills, knowledge, and behaviors in the field. Its primary objective is to equip you with the expertise required to excel in plumbing and heating systems. By enrolling in this course, you will gain advanced skills and knowledge that will prepare you for progression into an apprenticeship or secure full-time employment in the construction trade of your choice, focusing on plumbing and heating. Located within our dedicated Plumbing and Heating Academy, housed in our state-of-the-art Construction Centre in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, you'll benefit from exceptional facilities that rank among the best in the sector. With practical areas and classrooms in close proximity, you'll have the ideal environment to refine the specialist skills and techniques required for your chosen trade, preparing you for prospective employment.

What will I study?

  • Domestic central heating systems planning and design
  • Principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
  • Domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • Cold water systems planning and design
  • Hot water systems planning and design
  • Building services site procedures and planning

Entry requirements

  • A minimum of GCSE at grade 4 in math and grade 3 in English

Study programmes - essential skills for employment

If you're a student between the ages of 16 and 18 (or 19 to 25 with an EHC Plan) we want to make sure you have the best possible chances of landing an awesome job once you finish college.

Students who haven't achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE maths or English to continue studying these subjects while you're here with us. By doing so, you'll be building a strong foundation of skills that will significantly boost your employability in the future.

Think of it as a chance to supercharge your knowledge and abilities. You'll be equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the world beyond college with confidence. Plus, we'll be right here to support you every step of the way.

In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
