Essential skills for the future
Studying at West Notts means far more than just gaining a qualification. We will help prepare you for your next steps – whether this be employment, apprenticeships or Higher Education.
English and maths
In today’s working environment it is essential that you have at least a grade 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE English and Maths. If you didn’t achieve this at school, don’t worry, you can continue studying these key qualifications alongside your course. This is not applicable to those wanting to study A Levels or a T Level.
Work placement
If you enrol onto a Level 2 or Level 3 course (apart from A Levels), completing a meaningful placement of around 35 hours is now a mandatory part of your study programme. You may also have the option of undertaking an extended industry placement to further build on your skills and knowledge. If you enrol on a T Level course, you will be required to undertake a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) work placement.
