In our modern world video production is everywhere. Welcome to the exciting world of Content, Media and Film Production.

Here at college you will study digital media content from around the world and learn to make a range of high quality products, such as film, documentaries, live TV and online video content.

You will use the very latest technology and equipment to develop skills in making videos, using HD cameras, lighting techniques and the Adobe Creative Suite.

This course is aimed at those who wish to explore a career in some of the following job roles:

  • Writers Journalists.

Our tutors all have extensive experience in the media industry and can give you the very best advice and guidance as you start your journey in the exciting world of creative media production.

This course is a full-time programme split over two years:

Year 1 - Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Creative Media Practice
Year 2 - Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice.

  • Entry requirements
    • Four GCSEs at grade 4-9

    OR

    • Successful completion of a relevant Level 2 course at Merit level.

    Both options require a portfolio of evidence of media work.

    If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses. If you are not planning on sitting GCSE exams, we can also support you with completing an English Language and Maths assessment. Please contact our admissions team for further details:

    Applicants aged over 19

    If you don't meet the listed entry requirements, you may still be accepted with relevant experience, a strong portfolio, and a commitment to the subject.

  • Assessment

    Assessment takes place through controlled assignments set by tutors and externally verified. You will take part in projects and practical workshops based on realistic workplace situations.

  • Progression

    *As we are a partner college of Nottingham Trent University (NTU), you may qualify for various benefits should you choose to apply to NTU after completing your college course. This could include a Progress NTU offer, where you would receive an offer one grade below their standard offer. For instance, a typical offer for one of their courses might require 128 UCAS tariff points. With Progress NTU, your requirements would be 120 UCAS tariff points.
