Hiring your apprentice
With the right support, finding the right apprentice for your staff can be simple and stress-free. At Vision West Nottinghamshire College, we provide a free recruitment service where you can discuss your requirements and options one-to-one with an advisor. Alternatively, if you already have someone in mind, we can work with you to get them into place.
Before taking the steps to find your perfect learner, you should be aware that as an employer, you must ensure your apprentice will:
- Work with experienced staff
- Learn job-specific skills
- Get time for training and study during their working week (at least 20% of their normal working hours)
At West Nottinghamshire College, our recruitment process has been designed to support both you as an employer and the learner. We find the best candidate for your business by following a process that includes screening interviews, initial assessments and the creation of unique learning programmes.

Apprenticeships we offer
As a leading apprenticeship provider in Mansfield and Ashfield, we offer four different levels of apprenticeships:
- Intermediate - equivalent to a level 2 / GCSE qualification in English , maths and IT
- Advanced - equivalent to a level 3 qualification or two A Level passes
- Higher - equivalent to a level 4 / foundation degree qualification
- Degree - equivalent to a level 5/6 qualification or bachelors or masters degree.
These apprenticeships also cover a variety of sectors and roles, including:
- Accounting
- Business
- Construction
- Engineering
- Hair and beauty
- Human resources (HR)
- IT and Software
- Marketing
- Retail
