This course is ideal if you want to develop your business knowledge and explore the wide range of careers available in the industry.
You’ll gain a strong understanding of how businesses operate, from marketing and finance to customer service and teamwork. Along the way, you’ll build valuable employability skills that employers look for.
After completing the course, you could progress to Business - Level 3, move into an apprenticeship, or begin a career in areas such as administration, sales, retail, finance or HR.

The Eventors is our student event team where you’ll plan and run real events, from fundraising markets to awards ceremonies.

Entrepreneur in residence
Our Entrepreneur in Residence supports students with big ideas. They work with you to build enterprise skills, creativity and confidence, while sharing real business experience and mentoring future entrepreneurs.
Industry-standard facilities
You’ll study at The Mansfield Ambition Exchange, a modern campus in Mansfield town centre designed for business and innovation.
The centre includes:
- Modern classrooms across two floors
- A learning resource centre
- A dedicated T Level centre
You’ll also have access to dining facilities at Mansfield and Ashfield Sixth Form College, located on the same site.
Real work placements
Work placements are a key part of your course, giving you real experience in the workplace.

- Entry requirements
This course is only available to 16-18 year olds.
- GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 3-9.
OR
- Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 course.
If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses. If you are not planning on sitting GCSE exams, we can also support you with completing an English Language and Maths assessment. Please contact our admissions team for further details:

- Assessment
Coursework assessment is completed throughout your course using case studies, projects, presentations, reports linked to real business, role play activities, marketing displays, visual merchandising window displays, video and web cam research. This builds on the skills and experience you gain as your course progresses.
Assessment is undertaken throughout the course in the form of assignments, presentations, projects and external assessments.
