Biography
Wayne has over 16 years’ experience in education, specialising in teaching travel, tourism and aviation qualifications across all levels.
Originally from Jamaica in the Caribbean, Wayne moved to the UK after completing his college education. He began his career in the hotel industry, working at Astra Country Inn and Restaurant, and Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Montego Bay. His roles included guest services agent and rooms revenue auditor. He also pursued a career in the ground handling and airline industry with Jamaica Dispatch Services and Northwest Airlines, as a customer service lead agent at Sir Donald Sangster International Airport.
In the UK, Wayne continued his studies, completing a BTEC NVQ Level 3 in Airline and Airport Operations, a Higher National Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management at Nottingham College, a BA (Hons) in Service Sector Management at Nottingham Trent University, and an MA in Education at the University of Nottingham, specialising in disadvantaged children. While pursuing his qualifications, he worked as a customer service supervisor with Bmibaby (BMI) in the airline industry.
Following the closure of BMI, Wayne redirected his career to teach our travel, tourism and aviation courses. He is passionate about the travel, tourism and aviation industries, and dedicated to providing high-quality education to students at West Notts College, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for their futures. Wayne believes that every student deserves a quality educational experience that inspires and challenges them, laying a foundation for them to become the best version of themselves, be happy and pursue the careers of their dreams.
Wayne enjoys singing, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends.
