Biography
James is a sports teacher on the Level 3 Sports Science and Level Personal Trainer programme.
After finishing college in 1996 James’ first job was as a gym instructor and he trained to be a personal trainer before going to university the following year to study sports science.
Whilst doing my degree he continued to work as a personal trainer and gained experience of working as a fitness professional. After completing his studies James worked with a range of private training providers teaching students on fitness industry qualifications including gym instructing, exercise to music and personal training.
He joined West Nottinghamshire College in January 2010 where he’s taught on Level 3 sport programmes as well as the foundation degrees offered previously at the university centre. His main areas of teaching specialism include anatomy, nutrition and personal training.
Away from college James is a keen triathlete and he regularly races in the Ironman triathlon events which involve a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run.
