Biography

My name is Bethany Pressley and I teach sports here at West Nottinghamshire College. Prior to working at the college, I was a secondary school PE teacher in Sheffield. I completed an undergraduate degree in physical education at Leeds Beckett University before moving back home to undertake my PGCE at Sheffield Hallam.

During my degree I completed multiple coaching awards including tchoukball and gymnastics. My favourite sport is ice-skating. I have been a figure skater for many years, continuing to participate recreationally, although I still haven't managed to land a triple axel.

I have always enjoyed and continue to enjoy learning about the history of sport, development of sport, sociology, and psychology in sport, these were also some of my favourite modules at university. A teacher once told me at school, "Find a job you love, and you'll never have to work another day in your life." After all these years, I am pleased to say he was right!
