Biography

Amy is the departments singing teacher and takes responsibility for the vocal development of the dance and musical theatre students. She gained her 1st class honours degree in musical theatre at Expressions Academy of Performing arts, where she specialised in both acting and singing. She also holds a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, specifically for further education.

This is Amy’s first year of being a qualified teacher, but has a multitude of experience of working with learners both academically, and from a singing perspective. During her teacher training year, she carried out her placement in the performing arts department at Vision West Nottinghamshire college. As well as working in the performing arts department, Amy works at the Chesterfield Road site where she is an achievement coach for A-levels.

Prior to qualifying as a teacher, Amy has been involved in numerous musical and play productions where she has taken on ensemble, understudy and leading roles. She has been in shows such as Grease, Back to the 80s, Little shop of horrors, Fame and a Midsummer nights dream. Although specialising in theatrical singing and acting, she also has an extensive background in dance and loves to express herself through the medium of the arts.

Amy has a strong commitment to provide young people with a stimulating environment, which ensures both their aspirations and confidence are raised to their full potential.
