Specialisms

Working with young people with special educational needs or disabilities within hairdressing and beauty therapy and catering.

Biography

Lisa has a background in hairdressing and beauty, running a beauty salon for 12 years. She has a graduate Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector and a Certificate in Supporting People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

When joining the college in 2001 she taught foundation level beauty to engage young people who struggled with mainstream education. She also worked on community courses and in day centres teaching topics such as cookery and horticulture.

Since 2008 Lisa’s focus has been in Step-up and progress helping to develop independent living courses for learners with SEND.

Lisa is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about helping young people gain the confidence and skills to reach their potential.

In her spare time Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves to travel.
