Biography
Ryan Askham teaches apprentices to develop their skills in site carpentry and architectural joinery. Alongside teaching apprentices he carries out site visits to support the apprentices and their employers in the workplace, keeping employers up-to-date with the latest the key elements of their apprentices training and development of knowledge, skills and behaviours in the trade to ensure that apprentices are feeling confident and competent to successfully pass their end point assessments and gain their qualifications.
Ryan has many years of experience in the construction industry running his own business as a self-employed carpenter on new build and restoration/modernisation projects.
Alongside working in the construction industry Ryan decided that he would like to put his skills to the best use possible and chose to pass his skills on to the next generations of carpenters and joiners. To do this Ryan went back into education to gain his teaching and assessing qualifications.
When not teaching Ryan enjoys the high adrenalin rush of riding motorcycles offset by the tranquillity of spending many hours on the riverbank doing a spot of fishing.
