Biography

Scott worked as a technician for several years before transitioning to managing a company, which built systems for corporate and private customers.

Both of these jobs gave Scott a wide range of skills in networking, fault find and repair, project management, ICT support and customer service.

While working in these job roles Scott took various industry qualifications the main one being CISCO at the CCNA level. While completing these courses Scott was attracted to a teaching role at West Notts College.

After a short period of teaching mainly the system support and network engineering subjects, Scott moved into the programme area leader role with a focus on the technical support pathway. As PAL, Scott is responsible for over seeing the smooth running of the department, curriculum planning and assessment. Scott has a wealth of skills. He is highly-organised with a keen eye for detail.

While working in this position Scott continued to develop his skillset and has recently changed focus to cyber security, cloud and computing. As the department evolved, Scott took the lead on the computer science apprenticeship provision. Scott regularly delivers on Level 2 and Level 3 courses and also has experience of A-Level.
