Biography
Hamish is an experienced IT professional and educator with a passion for technology, teaching and learning. He has worked in several different business sectors as an IT professional from 1993 until 2008 before making the transition into the education sector.
During his diverse career, he has worked for several prestigious companies including the likes of GEC Marconi, Fujitsu ICL, Accenture and Barclays bank. He has performed numerous roles from IT support technician, database administrator, programming trainer, analyst programmer, test manager, quality assurance manager, offshore development manager, transition manager, project manager, delivery manager, and support and maintenance manager.
Hamish has a wealth of technical and management knowledge of projects covering virtual reality, EPOS, local council services, ecommerce and banking development and maintenance support, system integration and international network infrastructure implementation projects and has experienced the complete development life cycle; from analysis through design, development, testing to support and maintenance.
He has achieved accreditation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a BSc Hons in Information Technology.
Having successfully studied and obtained a PGCE qualification in 2010, Hamish has worked in the education sector as an IT Lecturer, supporting and teaching students from level 1 through to level 5 to achieve qualifications and support their career aspirations in the IT industry. Some of his specialisms include software and games development, IT technical support and management and networking.
