Biography
Aaron started his journey of computing with West Notts College back in 2004 where he studied a Level 3, HNC and HND in computer science and later achieved a BSc Hons Degree in applied computer at Sheffield Hallam University.
Aaron is a long standing member of the computer science department and is a fully qualified teacher, who has previously taken responsibility for course coordination and delivery on our HNC and HNC computing programmes, as well as teaching across a wide variety of courses including Level 2 and 3.
Aaron teaches a variety of subjects including programming (Visual Basic, C#, C++ and Java), database design and development (SQL) and website development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Pre-processors). As well as practical skills, he also has a keen interest in delivering theoretical subjects such as artificial intelligences and smarter planet solutions.
Within his role, Aaron has successfully trained and supported learners in competing in the World Skills UK regional competitions for a variety of subjects such as website development, IT Technician and Network Administrator.
Outside of college Aaron works as a freelance website developer where he continually develops his practical skills for HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP within an industry setting. These skills are transferred within his teaching to empower his learners to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge within the industry.
Before joining the college, Aaron worked as a Photo Lab Technician that allowed him to develop skills in repairing damaged photographs using industry standard packages such as the Adobe Creative Suite.
