Biography
Anna Tagg is the department’s Programme Area Leader and a fully qualified teacher. Her background is in Fine Art studying both BA and MA Fine Art Studio Practice at Leeds Metropolitan University where her personal practice utilised installation, performance art and hand sewn textiles before gaining a PGCE from Leeds University.
Working in mixed media textiles and sculpture, she has exhibited as part of the ‘Woven’ and ‘Warriors’ exhibitions, has made sculptural jewellery pieces for photoshoots and the ‘Eta Carina’ performance which debuted at the Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester.
She taught for 11 years in secondary and sixth form departments, delivering GCSE Art and Photography and A Level Fine Art courses as teacher and latterly head of department for five years. As part of this role, she worked in an advisory capacity, working with other schools to improve the success of their GCSE cohorts. More recently she has worked in her current role delivering BTEC qualifications from Levels 1 to 3 in addition to A-Level Fine Art.
Anna delivers on Level 1, 2 and 3, teaching students in drawing, painting, 2D and 3D design, jewellery making, history of art and contextual studies. Anna is a multi-skilled practitioner with a wealth of knowledge experience in creative practice.
