College to host engineering and construction advice events

Posted: 22 November 2022

West Nottinghamshire College is hosting two open events on Thursday 1 December for those interested in the engineering and construction trades.

Guests can come to see the facilities at the Sutton-in-Ashfield-based engineering and motor vehicle campus, which includes Emau robots and Festo hydraulics. Potential students can meet the teachers to ask their engineering, motor vehicle and fabrication and welding-related questions and apply for courses on the night.

This event, which will showcase the wide range of industry-standard equipment and nano, carbon and hybrid technologies runs from 5.30-7.30pm at the campus situated at 28 Oddicroft Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, NG17 5FA.  Interested parties should register their interest at https://bit.ly/3NP0qqy.

On the same evening from 5.30-7.30pm, tutors at the college’s Kirkby-in-Ashfield construction campus will be answering any questions from individuals who are interested in pursuing careers in architecture, plastering, plumbing, quantity surveying, bricklaying, building surveying, carpentry and joinery, construction management or electrical installation.

Visitors will be able to see the dedicated workshop areas which cater for bricklaying, carpentry, electrical and plumbing studies.

The construction campus is located at Julias Way, off Lowmoor Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 7RB. Interested parties should register their interest at https://bit.ly/3FT5xUJ.

People will also be able to enquire about the new T Levels which are coming into further education this academic year.

Both open events are welcoming family and friends of visitors so they too can get an idea of what life is like at West Nottinghamshire College. For anyone wishing to attend both events, the two centres are just half a mile apart from each other so visits to each campus could be achieved.
