Elective Home Educated Families Open Evening

Introduction

West Notts College is holding a special opening evening for Elective Home Educated families to discuss a new course being introduced for September 2018.

The Stepping Stones home educated specialist course is for young people aged 14-16 and in year 10 and 11.The course has been specifically designed to provide a stepping stone for young people looking to move into Further Education post-16. Course details.

Students must have been home-schooled since at least September 2017 to enrol onto the new course. 

As part of the course, students will be in college three days per week and will study Functional Skills, and a vocational subject including construction, motor vehicle, hair and beauty or care occupations. On completion, students will have developed the sklills and confidence needed to progress on to other vocational courses at the college.

The open evening will give home educated families the opportunity to find out more about the course, ask any questions and get a first glimpse at the college environment.
