Mental Health First Aid - MHFA - Online (5 Weeks) - Level 2

Our Mental Health First Aid course is a five-week, online course designed to provide you with essential knowledge and skills to support mental health in the workplace. This FREE* course is ideal for anyone looking to understand mental health more deeply, recognise signs of mental ill-health, and learn how to support both their own and their colleagues’ wellbeing.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive a Qualsafe accredited certificate, valid for three years.

  • Wednesday 23 April to Wednesday 21 May 2025 - 6.00-7.30pm.
  • Wednesday 4 June to Wednesday 2 July 2025 - 6.00-7.30pm.

Costs

  • FREE for adults aged 19 or over (on 31 August 2024), unemployed and in receipt of qualifying benefits, or employed earning less than £25,000 per year.
  • £45 for adults aged 19 or over (on 31 August 2024), employed and earning more than £25,000 per year, or unemployed and not in receipt of benefits.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

While this course may be offered to you free of charge, failure to complete the course may result in a £125 administration fee. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with non-completion.

What will I study?

  • Recognising mental illness and health.
  • Supporting mental wellbeing in the workplace.
  • The importance of resilience and self-care.
  • Understanding common mental health conditions.
  • Understanding how to promote a wellness culture.
  • Understanding the role of the mental health first aider.
  • Understanding what is meant by mental health.

Entry requirements

  • This course is only available to adults aged 19+.
  • You must live in England and NOT live in one of the locations listed here.
  • Ideally a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

How long is the course?

  • Five-weeks.

You will attend weekly one hour online training sessions (6-7.30pm) and spend up to an additional two hours per week on independent study.

Total time to achieve this qualification is approximately 15 hours.
