During this course you will be given an understanding of basic manicure treatments, skin care, basic make-up and more.
The topics covered have been carefully selected to prepare you for a journey into the world of beauty therapy and will give you basic knowledge that can prepare you for further study.
This course is designed for learners with no prior beauty knowledge and will be based in our own on-site Revive hair and beauty salon, where you will be able to put everything you learn into practice with real clients.
Start dates and fees
This course is FREE for adults aged 19+, but purchasing your own uniform is essential. Please be aware that the price for the required uniform is £45.80.
This course will begin in May 2025.
What will I study?
This course is made up of a series of mandatory units:
- Basic manicure treatments
- Skin care
- Basic make-up
- Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
- Presenting a professional image in a salon.
Entry requirements
- This course is only available for adults aged 19 and over (on 31 August 2023)
- There are no specific entry requirements, just a keen interest in the subject matter.
How long is the course?
14 weeks.
How will I be assessed?
The qualification is assessed by both written and practical assessments.

What can I progress onto?
- All Level 2 courses in hair, beauty, make-up artistry and barbering.
