Intermediate Computer Aided Design (CAD) Skills - Level 1


This course is ideal for those who already have some experience in computing and want to increase their knowledge and skills.

  • If you are 19+ and unemployed and receiving relevant benefits – the course is FREE
  • If you are 19+ not receiving benefits the course will cost you £75

What will I study?

You will further develop your skills in understanding the principles of the 2D/3D drawing environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings and the typical composition of a CAD system.

It is likely you will learn in a group, developing your skills in both practical and theory sessions.

Entry requirements

This course is only available to learners aged 19+.

To have previously completed the CAD Introduction programme or have basic CAD/Fusion360 or Revit experience would be helpful.

This course however is only available to 19+ learners so no previous experience or skills are required.

How long is the course?

The course will take 4 weeks, for a total of 24 hours.

You will study the course in the evenings with occasional daytime classes during holiday periods.

How will I be assessed?

Practical assignments and short answer questions.

What does the course lead to?

This course leads to an understanding of the use of AutoCAD, Fusion360 and Revit within your current career and will enable you to use AutoCAD to a basic standard, designing your own projects.

These newly developed skills will also help with personal construction design projects and hobbies.

If you currently work in the industry, these new skills could lead to career advancement.
