GCSE Maths Fast Track - Level 2
Overview
Teaching a wide range of maths-based skills, this free fast-track course helps you to achieve a GCSE qualification in just 18-weeks.
As a widely-recognised qualification that is requested by most employers or required for progression into university-level study, choosing to study for your maths GCSE can open a world of opportunities.
This course is only open to adult learners aged 19+ and is currently offered on a flexible basis, covering daytime and evening classes.

- This course is free to learners who are aged 19+ and do not have a grade D/3 in GCSE maths.

What will I study?
The course will follow the GCSE mathematics curriculum at foundation level with AQA examination board.
The course will cover the board topics of:
• number
• algebra
• measure, shape and space
• statistics
There will be an option to take the higher paper and this will based on continual assessment by your tutor.
Entry requirements
- This course is for learners aged 19+ only
- For learners who have achieved a GCSE at grade 3/D (or lower) in English and aiming to improve their grade.
- Before you can enrol onto this course, you will need to complete a homework task and a computer-based assessment in the subject you wish to study. You will be given areas to revise before you take the assessment.
How long is the course?
18 weeks
How will I be assessed?
You will take three externally assessed examinations in May and June.
One of these will be a non-calculator examination and the other two you will be permitted to use a calculator.
Each examination is an hour and a half and will be held at our Derby Road campus.
