GCSE Maths - Level 2
Overview
This GCSE maths course aims to help you achieve a qualification that is widely recognised and requested by employers or for progression into university-level study.
Start dates and fees
- If you have a GCSE at grade 3/D (or lower) in maths, the cost will be FREE.
- If you have a GCSE at grade 4/C (or above) in maths, the cost will be £846.
The course fee can either be paid in full or in four instalments.
If you wish to pay in instalments, you will be required to pay 25% (£213.00) of the total fee on the day of enrolment and a Direct Debit mandate would then need to be completed to enable the college to collect a further three payments of £211.00 bi-monthly. The payments will be taken on the date you choose on the Direct Debit mandate form.

What will I study?
The course will follow the GCSE mathematics curriculum at foundation level with Educas examination board.
The course will cover the board topics of:
- number
- algebra
- measure, shape and space
- statistics
- problem solving
There will be an option to take the higher paper and this will based on continual assessment by your tutor.
Entry requirements
- This course is for learners aged 19+ only
- For learners who have achieved a GCSE at grade 3/D (or lower) in maths and aiming to improve their grade.
- Before you can enrol onto this course, you will be invited to a welcome event and tasked at completing a computer-based assessment to assess your suitability onto this course.
How long is the course?
One year.
How will I be assessed?
You will take two externally assessed examinations in summer 2025:
Paper 1: Non-Calculator Thursday 15th May 2025
Paper 2: Calculator Wednesday 4th June 2025
Each examination is 2 hours and 15 minutes and will be held at our Derby Road campus.
