Construction course (CSCS card) - Level 1

Overview

This free, six-week construction course will enable you to gain a CSCS card which is valid for five years. You will gain practical skills and work experience to help you move on to further study or employment within the construction industry.

What qualifications will I gain?

  • BTEC Level 1 Work Skills Certificate
  • BTEC Level 1 Construction Certificate
  • BTEC Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Construction Environment
  • CSCS card (with one resit if necessary)
  • Practical experience
  • Work placements

Entry requirements

To be eligible to study this course you need to be aged over 19+ and in receipt of benefits.
As part of the application process you will be asked to complete a maths and English assessment, followed by an informal interview.

How long is the course?

Six weeks (9am-3pm Monday to Friday)

What will I study?

The course will include a mix of classroom-based learning and practical sessions. You will gain skills in bricklaying, block paving and ceramic tiling. All PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided.
