Animal Care One Day Course - Technician for a Day - Level 1


Join us for an immersive one-day experience that will introduce you to the dynamic and essential role of an Animal Unit Technician. This course is designed for adults aged over 19 seeking an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities and intricacies associated with the world of animal care and management.

Throughout the day, you will have the invaluable opportunity to shadow our skilled technicians, gaining first-hand knowledge of their daily routines and tasks. By actively engaging in various practical exercises, you will acquire practical skills and insights essential to the field. From animal welfare protocols to routine health checks, maintenance procedures, and the intricacies of documentation and stock management, you will receive a holistic understanding of the role's demands and responsibilities.

  • £20 per day*

*Tuition fees are waived for adults aged 19 and over (on the 31 August 2023), unemployed and in receipt of qualifying benefits, or are employed and earning less than £20,319 per year.

Entry requirements

  • No prior qualifications are required to attend this course.
  • Attendees must be aged 19 or over and have a genuine interest in animal care.

How long is the course?

  • 5 hours from 9.30am-2.30pm.

How will I be assessed?

  • This is a non-accredited course and therefore there is no formal assessment.
  • You will be expected to actively participate in the practical sessions and engage in class discussions.
