The purpose of the role is to lead and inspire a School of Learning to provide excellent teaching and learning and provide an outstanding learning experience. Learners’ success will be your driver. This success will be achieved through your leadership of your staff. You will be engaged in our strategic objective to be outstanding and will recognise and develop excellence in all areas of provision.

You will report directly to the Director: Learning and Innovation.

You will be accountable for the success of the School of Learning. This success will be measured through high achievement rates, learner satisfaction surveys and high levels of progression to further study, higher education or employment.

This School of learning consists of the following curriculum areas:

Sport and Public Services Levels 1 -3, gym instructor and fitness programmes
Higher Education – consists of Foundation degree and BA (Hons) top-up business and management; certificate in education, PGCE and BA (Hons) education studies; Foundation degree and BA (Hons) top-up criminal justice; foundation degrees and BA (Hons) top-up sport. Professional Studies – consist of Access to Higher Education, Business level 3; and Professional Studies Courses (CIPS, CIM, AAT and CIPD).

The School has approximately 50 staff and generates income of around £3m.

The role will require you to embed the college’s values; working with Professionalism, taking Responsibility for your actions and giving Respect to clients and colleagues alike.
