Cashless catering at West Notts
Vision West Nottinghamshire College students can look forward to a cashless system to use at the catering facilities across college sites. Way2Pay allows students to pay for their meals quicker, which means less time in the queue, and more time spent enjoying lunch with friends! It’s faster, more secure and means that you don’t have to carry any cash, credit or debit cards. You can use this in both vending machines and at the till points.
However, you don't have to choose this way to pay for your meals, you can still use cash.
How does it work?
Staff and student ID card details have been added to the cashless payment system. To activate the card, staff and students must first register to create an account. Once registered, the card account can be loaded with cash online. Each time you present your card at a dining facility or vending machine, the amount will be debited from the cashless account.
Your student/staff ID card now has two separate cashless accounts – one for catering, one for print credits. Funds cannot be transferred between accounts and can only be used for the relevant service.
How do I put money on my card?
To add funds to your card you will need to login to Way2Pay. You will be issued these details at enrolment.
Will I still be able to use cash?
Yes. Cash will still be taken at the till points and all vending machines will take coins as well as accept our cashless payment system.
What happens if I lose my card?
You can report this to a reception point. There will be a charge of £3 to provide a replacement ID badge but your account balance should not be affected provided you report it promptly. Your balance is retained on a secure server, not on the card, and we can deactivate any lost cards to prevent them from being used. The college cannot take responsibility for any money lost before a card is reported and deactivated.
What do I do if my card doesn’t work?
Please contact a reception point and the staff will be happy to assist.
Is my money safe?
Your money is held on a secure server by a company that operates the same levels of online security as a bank. No money is held on the ID card itself.
Does the college hold my credit card details?
No – all details are held by an external company which has the same security processes and systems as a bank. This is the highest level of internet security and is recognised as the highest global standard for online security.
Will my account be the same if I stay at college for a second year?
Your account details will remain the same for your entire time at college but all account balances will be removed on 31 July so it is important that you use up any credit you have remaining on or before that date.
If I have money remaining can I get a refund?
There is no refund facility. We encourage you to only top up the account with sensible amounts of cash that will be used up while you are at college.
If I leave the college early can I get a refund?
No. We are unable to provide refunds on any outstanding balance. However, the card will continue to work so you will be able to recover the value held on the card through college vending or catering service in the time you have available before you leave.
