Vision Business, which holds the largest college contract for apprenticeship provision nationally, is now the proud holder of the People 1st gold standard, which sets it amongst a network of quality providers who share best practice and innovation.

The apprenticeship provider, which has recently undergone redevelopment and a rebrand of its provision, to cater for the local geographical needs, was praised for the new robust strategy of delivery.

It provides apprenticeship training, a bespoke pre-service, wrap-around service and specialist service for seven key industry sectors which includes healthcare, hospitality, retail, adult health and social care, hair and beauty, construction and engineering.

People 1st verifiers highlighted the high quality and rigour of the service which showed more than 90% of its employers are satisfied with the quality of the standard of service received.

They also remarked positively on the dedicated team which oversees the quality and standards which are maintained across all business partners. Particular praise was given about the embedding of delivery staff’s continuing professional development with employers to ensure they tailor training to meet the needs of each organisation.

The company was commended on how it has redeveloped the service to accommodate local business needs and how it is supporting employers to understand the government’s reshaping of the workforce skills arena, in terms of changes to legislation and funding.

Apprenticeships programmes offered by Vision Business range from level two to five, with plans afoot to develop courses at level six.

Vice principal for business development and employer engagement Lesley Roberts, said: “This is an absolute honour for our team to be recognised in this way.

“For me, this People 1st gold standard acknowledges not just the quality training, high standards, breadth of provision and success of the apprentices, but also the dedication of our staff, their willingness to always go the extra mile and the all-round passion they show towards the business and their own development.”
