These courses are designed for adults who speak English as a second language. You can build confidence, start learning from the basics, or improve the English skills you already have. After completing these courses, you can move on to our Functional Skills English, Maths, or GCSE English courses.

No qualifications are needed, and the courses are completely FREE*! We'll help you with a quick assessment to find out your current level and guide you to the best course for you.

FAQs

• I don’t receive Universal Credit, but I receive other benefits. Can I still access the course for free?

  Please contact us to discuss – each application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

  Please note – not all benefits entitle you to access the course for free.

• I haven’t been in education for years. I am worried about the exams.

  Please don’t let that stop you! Our qualified teachers will support you every step of the way, and you will get plenty of practice before the exam. If you fail, the tutors will discuss with you the opportunities for a resit and advise you about next steps.

• What documents do I need to provide?

  You will need to bring with you a photo ID, proof of benefits you receive, and visa evidence (Home Office letter, BRP card, or your shared code for the EU Settlement Scheme).
