Kitchen Assistant

Job description

We are currently recruiting Kitchen Assistant to work with flexible hours contract.

Principal Responsibilities:

To accept reasonable duties as delegated by the Cook/Assistant Cook.
To assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages as required.
To prepare the dining room for the serving of meals.
To clear tables and ensure all crockery and cutlery are washed and put away.
To ensure cleaning is completed as per cleaning schedules.
To report any problems to the Cook/ Manager.
To assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries. Assist in putting away supplies as necessary, ensuring correct storage.
To ensure that access to the kitchen is restricted to designated people.
To ensure all chemicals and detergents are used and stored correctly and to include the use of personal protective equipment provided.
To report to the Manager or Cook as soon as possible any illness of an infectious nature.
To participate in staff meetings and attend training courses as appropriate.
To work in accordance with the home’s policies and procedures and to assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene, and to ensure that safe working practices are followed.
