Work Placement - Trinity Church

Job description

The Trinity Methodist church in Kirkby is one in a local group of Methodist  churches known as the Borders Mission Circuit which bridges the Nottingham and Derby areas. The church serves, and is in the very heart of, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. A small town of around 20,000 people. The church is here to provide a place of worship, support, affordable cooked meals and to host a wide range of community groups. 

The Trinity church holds a lunch club every day and also serves coffee in morning and afternoon for the visitors at the Church. An opportunity has arisen for students to help the friendly group of volunteers. 

Your duties will include; observe and assist where appropriate in the kitchen area, preparing an platting food, serving food, general cleaning duties and additional housekeeping duties.

Please note - Placements are open to all students at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, this may result into the placement being allocated; we do advise all students interested in the placement to speak with the employer in the first instance to check that the placement is still available.

Once your work placement has been confirmed, and start & end dates have been agreed with your employer. Please follow the steps below in order to process you work placement application.

Step 1 - Complete the work placement application form on the work placement connect app, or complete a self-placement form, the form can be found here. This will advise the work placement team you have a confirmed work placement.

Step 2 - The work placement team will seek authorisation confirmation from your tutor, and then the health and safety documentation will be completed for you to start your placement.

Step 3 - The work placement team will then send you, your tutor and the employer an email to confirm your work placement is ‘ Ready to Go’. You MUST NOT START YOUR WORK PLACEMENT, until you have received the confirmation email.

A parental consent form must also be signed and passed to your tutor before you go on placement.

We encourage you to secure your work placement as soon as possible. The deadline to have a placement agreed is Friday 14th Dec 2018.
