VTCT Award in Nail Technology (Intermediate) - Level 2
Overview
Looking for a change in career or a new hobby? Vision West Nottinghamshire College, Mansfield is offering a 10-week course in nail technology.
The course is designed to expand on previous knowledge and aims to help students become qualified at Level 2. You will develop practical skills in providing and maintaining nail enhancements using UV gel nail systems.

All hair and beauty courses require the purchase of a specific kit and uniform. It is your responsibility to finance these purchases independently, as there is no funding currently available. What will I study?
This course is both practical and theory-based and includes:
- Anatomy and physiology of the nail
- Equipment information and brush care
- Application of nail enhancements
We will provide you with a step-by-step guide to cover:
- Tip application
- Zoning
- Blending
- Re-balancing the nail application
- How to apply natural nail overlays
- Safe removal
Entry requirements
This course is only suitable for learners aged 19 or over.
You will need to have good skills and knowledge in manicure and pedicure. You will need to attend an interview with a college beauty tutor.
How long is the course?
- Part-time, evening course that runs over 10 weeks
- 5.30-8.30pm
How will I be assessed?
Theory assessments will be through online testing and assignments. Practical assessments will be carried out by a qualified assessor in college.
What does the course lead to?
This course is for students interested in nail techniques. It is an excellent option if you wish to progress into a career in the nail industry. On successful completion of this course you will hold a qualification at Level 2, with the opportunity to move on to Level 3 courses and enhance your knowledge further.

Level 3 courses in hair and beauty. Full-time courses are available at the college.
