Overview

Building important awareness of the fundamental and vitally relevant science of batteries as well as, the design and operation of energy storage systems - this course is the perfect complement to our other microgeneration courses.

The purpose of this programme is to introduce the concept of electricity, energy storage and batteries. Reviews the process of battery manufacturing and the structure of a basic battery storage system. An overview of the theory of installing and battery storage systems, including a review of battery storage systems, efficiency and managing battery storage systems for domestic and commercial renewable systems. Explores the different types of batteries and their characteristics, safety aspects, maintenance requirements and life expectancy.

This has been developed to support the race to NetZero and as an important step in an organisation or individuals sustainability journey.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

All applicants must live in England and NOT live in one of the locations listed here.

You will be assessed by online multiple choice assessment. Assessment is by on- line multiple-choice quiz covering the theory and the practical elements of the course
