Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance (FREE Distance Learning Course) - Level 2

Overview

This qualification develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of information, advice or guidance and how these are applied in their own context.

The qualification supports roles where learners may give initial information, advice and guidance to others.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

This qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.

Start dates and fees

This course is currently free if you are enrolled by Monday 31st May 2021.

How long is the course?

Total time to achieve this qualification is 150 hours.

Guided learning hours for this qualification is 114. These hours are made up of all contact time, guidance or supervision of a tutor.

Directed learning hours for this qualification is approximately 36 hours over the cycle of the programme.

Learners are expected to study and do aspects of their assessment portfolio in their own time.

How will I be assessed?

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance.

All learning outcomes and assessment criteria must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.

  • Information, advice or guidance work with groups
  • Understand debt advice work in practice
  • Understand employment advice work in practice
  • Understand housing advice work in practice
  • Understand information, advice or guidance in schools and colleges
  • Understand networks to support information, advice and guidance
  • Understand refugee, immigrant, asylum seeker advice work in practice
  • Understand skills required by advice providers
  • Understand the context of information, advice and guidance
  • Understand the management of information
  • Understanding signposting and referral in information, advice and guidance
