Certificate in Barbering - Adult Fast Track (Intermediate) - Level 2

Overview

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering has been designed to develop barbering skills to a high level of occupational ability and will prepare you to enter the barbering industry.

You will develop knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to advise and consult with men on how they can achieve their desired look as well as the type of hair cut and facial hair styling that would be most suitable for them. You will also learn how to work in a safe manner for both yourself and your clients.

Please note - students aged 19-23 who do not have a full level 2 qualification will have to pay the full course fee at £941, please contact us for further information, 0808 100 3626.

All hair and beauty courses require the purchase of a specific kit and uniform. It is your responsibility to finance these purchases independently, as there is no funding currently available. What will I study?

You will study units including:

  • Client consultation for hair services
  • Cutting men's hair
  • Cutting facial hair
  • Following health and safety in the salon

Entry requirements

  • A minimum of a Level 1 Functional Skills in English, or equivalent.

If you cannot find your certificates, please speak to us as we will also consider previous qualifications and experience.


How long is the course?

20 weeks.

One day per week (Wednesday) 5.30-8.30pm.


How will I be assessed?

You will need to provide your own models for practise and assessments.

You will also need to complete written assignments and online multiple-choice exams for every unit.


What does the course lead to?

This qualification will prepare you for:

  • Employment as a junior barber
  • Working independently through self-employment.
