Advanced Apprenticeship Logistics Operations Management NVQ - Level 3


As an advanced apprentice you will gain experience and qualifications whilst either leading or managing a medium to large logistics centre.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved a relevant Level 2 qualification to progress onto the advanced apprenticeship.

You must be in an employed position in a supervisory role related to logistics.

Start dates and fees

If you are between the age of 16 and 18, the apprenticeship is free of charge. If you are 19 and above your employer must pay a one off fee.

During your apprenticeship your employer is obliged to pay you a wage at the minimum rate for an apprentice.

How long is the course?

Depending on the individual, the course normally lasts up to 24 months.

How will I be assessed?

The NVQ will be delivered in the workplace where your assessor will visit you for support and assessment. 

The technical certificate and key skills will be delivered at college on day release.

What does the course lead to?

You will be qualified as a distribution manager or team leader.

What will I study?

Your advanced apprenticeship is made up of the following elements to complete your framework:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Logistics Operations Management
  • CPC National Road Haulage Operations
  • Key Skills Level 2 in Communication
  • Key Skills Level 2 in Application of Number
  • Functional Maths
  • Functional English

You can further your skills and experience by studying a foundation degree.
