Student Advocate (position open to current HE students of Vision West Nottinghamshire College only)

You will work with the Higher Education Team to promote higher education as a worthwhile opportunity that is open to anyone who has potential and ability.

All student advocates will be required to assist the HE team in the delivery of a variety of internal and external events and activities, all of which aim to inform and encourage people to consider HE as a real and beneficial option. You will act as a positive role model that people can identify with. You will work closely with both the HE Team and the National Collaborative Outreach Project (DANCOP), which is based here at the college until July 2019.

This will involve, for example, attendance at UCAS fairs to promote the College HE offer, supporting the HE team in outreach activity with local schools and colleges, promoting HE internally to our FE student population, representing the student body in annual monitoring meetings and facilitating focus groups.

THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT HE STUDENTS OF VISION WEST NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COLLEGE.                                            

The role will require you to take on and work to the college’s values; working with Professionalism, taking Responsibility for your actions, and giving Respect to clients and colleagues alike.
