University-level information event - Vision West Nottinghamshire College - Mansfield

University-level information event

Wednesday 1 February 2017 | 5.30pm - 7:30pm
Derby Road (NG18 5BH)

What to expect on the night

Our university-level information evenings give you the opportunity to take a look at the offer available to you as a higher-level student.

Come along and speak to tutors and current HE students from the college, who can give you an idea of what studying ‘HE at home’ is like, and listen to presentations on student life, student finance and more about Higher Education at West Notts.

There’ll also be representatives from other local universities available to speak with, and members of the careers and finance team for you to relay any questions to.

Please feel free to bring along parents and friends, and, when you arrive, make your way to the main reception where you’ll be greeted by our student advocates who will guide you to where the event is taking place

University? You’re closer than you think.

The college is proud to work with two partnership universities (Birmingham City University, and the University of Derby), along with Pearson (Edexcel) to offer you flexible, affordable, higher-level study right here in Mansfield.

Why choose West Notts for university-level study?

As an HE student at West Notts, you’ll enjoy smaller class sizes – which means you’re more than a face in a crowded lecture hall. You’ll also have your own study skills coach helping you to build and refine your study and writing skills. There’s plenty of opportunities to get involved in cross-college activities, and boost your employability skills with workshops and activities, too.

Vision University Centre

Situated at the colleges Derby Road campus, Mansfield’s flagship university centre opened its doors in autumn; providing facilities for over 1,000 students on higher-level programmes, from Access to HE through to full honours degrees, as well as professional qualifications and higher apprenticeships.

The centre’s position allows students to enjoy an exclusive learning environment, while still having the opportunity to benefit from the wider college community. It houses teaching and learning space, study rooms and a dedicated learning resource centre, as well as a 100-seat lecture theatre and science laboratory.

Stay local, go far…

The university centre is able to offer flexible, affordable university-level study, allowing you to stay close to work and family commitments, while still achieving your goals. Staying locally can greatly reduce the cost of Higher Education, and we’re committed to keeping fees low (approximately 1/3 less than most universities)..
