New exciting opportunity for all level computer sciene students, working alongside team members on their in house computer repair stations and with online enquires at their store in Newark. Learn a variety of skills in a technical environment.

Placement dates will be: 3rd July – 7th July 2017 - 9am – 4pm.

A little bit about Know How:

Knowhow is the new face of technology service and support – we want you to be able to enjoy your new product for years to come.

From getting it home and setting it up, or helping you get the most from your technology we are here to help with our knowhow.

If your product lets you down, we can get you back up and running again.

You can find Knowhow at Currys and PC World ready to offer friendly help and advice, we’ll be there to deliver and install your new TV, washing machine or fridge freezer. We’re at the end of the phone 24/7 or online with loads of useful hints, tips and guides. Whichever way you want to get in touch, we promise you this – we’ll talk to you like a human being and won’t use a lot of tech speak.

The Knowhow Team has experts in all areas of technology, whether it be kitchen appliances, computers, music players or gadgets. We’ve got:

A 1,400 strong team of experts in our UK Contact Centre helping people 24/7 every day of the year
1,000 people in our team of engineers fixing TVs, laptops and games consoles in our state of the art repair lab
A team of 700 installers fitting new washing machines, satellite dishes, dishwashers and cookers

How to apply

To apply please complete a pre placement application form as soon as possible and bring to room 4a or alternativly send on email to workplacement@wnc.ac.uk

Please note - Placements are open to all students at West Nottinghamshire College, this may result into the placement being allocated; we do advise all students interested in the placement to speak with the employer in the first instant to check that the placement is still available.

Once you have a confirmed offer, in order to proceed with the work placement you will need to download and complete the following ‘Student/Tutor’ Work Placement Application form. This form must be signed by your tutor.

You can drop off a completed application form to room 4a, Derby Road Campus (the Work Placement Office) or ask your tutor to post internally. Alternatively scan and email a completed application form to workplacement@wnc.ac.uk.

A parental consent form must also be signed and passed to your tutor.

On receipt of your Student/Tutor application form the Work Placement Team will ensure the health and safety documentation for your placement is in place. The Work Placement Team will then send you, your tutor and the employer a confirmation email prior to your work placement start date, as entered on your Student/Tutor application form. (Start and end dates MUST be entered.)
