Next semester, launch your international TEFL career with our paid internship in one of the largest, most enigmatic Western Chinese provinces! A TEFL favorite thanks to its giant panda population (85% of the country’s signature bears call the city home), electrifying expat nightlife and extreme sports culture, it’s China’s most captivating region.

Before you start your exciting new life in China, you’ll be 100% prepared for your adventures as a TEFL teacher. Our 240 hour expert package includes five professional courses; not only will you be a fully qualified TEFL teacher, and be licensed to prepare students for the important IELTS and TOEIC tests, you’ll specialize in Teaching Business English and Teaching Young Learners.

After you’ve completed your 240 hour training, and on your arrival, you will be picked up at the airport before being transferred to your orientation venue and enjoying a free welcome dinner with your fellow TEFL teachers. This one week orientation is your chance to prepare yourself for the placement – thanks to local knowledge, professional support and 24/7 guidance, you can brush up on cultural do’s and don’ts in China and enjoy a spot of sightseeing.

[Our TEFL courses] What makes this program more affordable is that the Chinese government is sponsoring your place!

Your teaching experience

Placements vary from primary to university level in a selection of the best international schools in the province. Couples and friends are more than welcome to apply to this program, as there will be at least 2 foreign teachers per school in the majority of cases.

Through 15 hours of face-to-face teaching in an actual classroom setting per week, you will be aiming to improve your students’ listening and speaking skills. You don’t have to worry about being on your own over there; the schools will assign an in-country liaison to provide assistance and support. And while you’re teaching students to be more confident in using spoken English, there’s also the opportunity for you to learn something as well – you’ll enjoy two hours of Mandarin lessons per week!

After you settle in, you will spend the next few months gaining hands-on teaching experience in a variety of locations such as:

  • Guangyuan, Nanchong, Bazhong, Dazhou, Ya’an, Deyang,
  • Suining, Guang’an, Meishan, Ziyang, Leshan, Neijiang,
  • Zigong, Yibin and many more

Plus, with regular excursions you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a melting pot of different cultures from around the globe.

Outside the classroom

For life outside of the classroom, you have to opportunity to discover real Chinese hospitality in the heart of Western China. With rolling grasslands, a glacial mountain range and high-altitude alpine valleys, you can meet Tibetan nomads, and pay homage to the holy nature reserve and reflect in ancient monasteries. You can’t visit China without participating in the camaraderie of a Chinese tea ceremony; long pots are common and often used in performances across the region in busy tea houses. Try soaking up the history of the Qing Dynasty, or see the world’s largest Buddha statue.

With 2,000 Renminbi (RMB) monthly allowance & 4,500 Renminbi (RMB) flight reimbursement upon completion, free accommodation throughout the internship and free workday meals, you are pretty much set to enjoy your time and be comfortable while traveling in your spare time.
